[ He sounds almost bored. But more or less amicable and polite. ]
If anyone is up to the task, I could really go for an apple or two. Assuming, of course there are any on board. But honestly, I'd settle for...any manner of fruit. There must be someone willing to help a guy out in bring some down here.

[ The irony wasn't lost on him. Locked up like this, after what he'd done. But he hadn't been so kind as to provide such amenities as beds. While he appreciated the twisted joke, below the surface, he was furious. A low simmering fury that never quite touched the surface. And it wasn't the indignation of a bunch of teenagers locking him up. But rather that as weak as he'd felt in his room, down here it was even worse. He was no stronger than the rest of them. His senses dulled to an extreme.
Over the first few days, his wounds healed finally. Frustratingly slow, for his tastes. But soon, the strange, unnatural looking burns were gone and he was restored to his not-so-true human-looking state.
He was a patient inmate. Biding his time. Calmly observing the wardens who came by. Even striking up idle conversations. Hardly the cruel and sadistic monster that allegedly landed him in that cell. Otherwise, he spent his time quietly observing the network, or resting. He was as calm as he was patient. Never restless. Never aggressive. At least not without provocation.
Even if things did get rough, he seemed to always return to his friendly demeanor, as if the previous incidents never happened. It always seemed to make people so very uncomfortable when they knew what it hid. And that's the way he liked it. ]
((OOC: Dates are still a little fuzzy, pending closure of the epic fight in his intro post. There might be some infirmary time before he's brought to Level 0, but I've given permission for maximum time, cause he's being a very bad inmate. Feel free to harass him at any time in any fashion. Audio post is for today, toward the end of his stay.))

His gaze snapped back to Stiles when the kid pulled the device out. If he thought anything of it, it didn't show. He just seemed to continue on his steady path toward rage.
He crouched down, attention returning to the apple. As if trying to figure out any possible way to reach it from inside the cell. But while down there, he seemed to finally notice the sign on his door. Or seemed to finally care about it, at least. He snatched the paper off the bars, turning it over to read. It earns Stiles a furious, black-eyed glare. ]

So you're a vampire. You've probably been around for awhile, right? [He doesn't wait for Jerry to respond before continuing.]
I'm sure you're familiar with that old saying about music soothing the savage beast. That's actually a misquote. [He waves a hand around as he speaks.] The saying's actually "Music has charms to soothe a savage breast" and it comes from a play called The Mourning Bride. Usually people think it's from Shakespeare. [He shrugs.] But the same play gave us another famous saying that's another misquote, ironically enough...you know, the one about hell having no fury like a woman scorned. I don't remember the exact line for that one. [He almost sounds apologetic about this.]
Anyway. I thought we could test that misquote. See if music will soothe your little blood-sucking soul. [He hits the play button and this song starts to play. He makes a face, shaking his head. He may have downloaded it to drive Scott crazy for one reason or another. He turns it up and hits the repeat button before setting it down on the floor, far out of Jerry's reach.]
Sorry, man, but uh -- I gotta split. Things to do, people to see. [He arches his eyebrows.] I've enjoyed this little talk. I'm sure it'll be the first of many.

Instead, he wanted the kid to think that the ploy was working. That he was sensitive enough to both the irritating song and the volume could effect him. He cringed, the paper crumpling in his hands.
Rising back to his feet, he slammed himself against the bars, as if doing so could some how reach that offending device. All snarls and black eyes and way too many teeth to be natural. His irises get more prominent against the field of black. Gold, but not glowing like the kid's wolf friends. ]
DON'T YOU DARE!
[ He bellows the words in a flawless frenzy, panicked at the notion of enduring it. ]

But attempting to kill an inmate -- even one that he thinks really deserves it, like Jerry, risks a demotion and that's something Stiles can't afford. Not only does he have an inmate of his own to worry about, he has a deal that means everything. And if he gets demoted, he's not sure he'd make it to graduation. He wouldn't regret killing Jerry, however temporary it would be.
He regrets the people who got hurt back home. He regrets that Allison died. He regrets that he hurt Scott, that he almost killed his dad, that he injured Coach and Isaac. But someone who hurts someone he cares about? He wouldn't regret hurting them at all. He knows himself well enough to know that while Scott and Lydia don't want to hurt anyone, Stiles and Allison are far more alike in the sense that they wouldn't feel regret for hurting or killing someone that hurt someone they love.
So leaving Jerry alone with one of the most annoying songs that he's ever heard? He knows it's petty. That it's not even a drop in the bucket. But it does make him feel a step above completely powerless in this situation.]
See ya!
[His voice is cheerful but it isn't sincere cheer. Let the vampire think he believes he's bested him in some way. Stiles knows better. He leaves without looking back, heading up the stairs and away from Zero.]

And he carried on, until he was certain the kid was long out of ear shot. Ten minutes or so, just to make sure the kid wasn't hanging nearby, listening.
But the act eventually dropped. And he was the well behaved prisoner again. He deposited the slip of paper on the desk, and pulled out his phone. He leaned against the wall by the door and waited. A guard would be by eventually. The music was no worse than most anything he heard these days, so it was rather easy to let it become nothing more than background noise as he resumed his reading of the network.
Waiting. ]

Good Gawd, what is that?

A gift from a visitor. Could you do me a solid and hand it to me?
[ Elbow resting on one of the cross-bars, he gestured toward the small device on the floor. ]
